Two weeks have passed and I have yet to make much more progress on the Shaw's Cove shawl. This California heat is not conductive to finishing anything. The green peaking out of the yarn keeper is for a test knit that I keep having to frog. The pattern is turning out to be beyond me, but I think its the pattern to be honest.
I am halfway finished with a slouchy hat that I am making a friend I've known since the seventh grade. When that is finished, I am going to knit her son Rebecca Danger's new pattern "Basil the Boogie-Woogie Brontosaurus". What colors do you think I should use on it?
I need to get some motivation before the Ravellenic Games commence! I am on team Middle Earth (but of course!) and will be knitting Fellowship! The Shawl. I will be using a skein from my stash of Creatively Dyed Yarn's Calypso in a beautiful tonal green. Is anyone else participating?
As you can see, I am still reading Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. I highly recommend it, but then, I may be biased. ;]
I hope you all can join Ginny's Yarn Along and Tamis Amis's WIP Wednesdays.
love the colour of the slouchy hat.
ReplyDeleteFellowship is a gorgeous shawl - good luck!
omg the bronto is gorgeous. purple and red??
Of course I'm participating, I still haven't decided on a project. I am team captain for Proudly South Africa!! I love the fellowship shawl and it will look spectacular in the greens. I love the Lord of the Rings books. Not sure what colours you should choose for the little boy, maybe his favourite colours?
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love the colours of your projects :) I'm a big fan of orange!
ReplyDeleteOh I hate knitting in warm weather too! (Un)fortunately we don't get much of it here in the UK ;-) I love your colours, gorgeous shades!
ReplyDeleteFabulous colours for the hat and shawl. I like orange. It's better to knit up cotton than wool when the temperatures are high. So the hat might take a rest for a while.
ReplyDeleteI love the Lord of the Rings series. And your shawl looks amazing.
ReplyDeleteSmart move tackling a hat in this heat.
ReplyDeleteI have been knitting in the mornings on larger projects and then towards the afternoon just laying on the sticky couch cursing the heat. ;)
Ooh, thanks for the pattern link - that's gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that recent UK weather has been VERY conducive to woolly work, so I'm sorry to hear yours hasn't been. the pattern test sounds pesky too, although I guess being able to feed back "I can't make it work" is also useful?
Looking forward to seeing your Fellowship shawl!
You certainly have some beautiful colors there! I'm also really excited to watch your progress on the green shawl later this month!
ReplyDeleteOoh, that dinosaur is so cute! I think he would look cute in dark blue with light blue stripes. Or dark purple with light purple stripes. Or dark green with light green stripes. I think you get the idea. :)
ReplyDeleteI loved reading the Lord of the Rings. I still need to find some time to read The Hobbit before it comes to theaters.
ReplyDeleteI love the Shaw's Cove pattern. I can't wait to see your finished shawl!
ReplyDeleteBack when LOTR was huge..(when movie came out) it was always huge for me..but anyway I came across patterns that had incorporated all the flags of the different area's...and one that patterned all the different crowns...
ReplyDeletenever seen the fellowship shawl...it will be wonderful!
